Historic village coming back to life

The Village Square, formerly Warwick Village, will celebrate on Friday the opening of its second business since renovations began on the historic village in 2008.

De Nouveau Salon & Gifts, 1505 E. McCarty St. Suite 20, will hold a 1 p.m. ribbon cutting and a 4-7 p.m. open house at the village featuring hors d'oeuvres and live music.

"We're in an area that needs a business like this," said owner Lorie Smith, adding that the full-service salon also has a gift shop.
