Memorial held for 2 slain NW Missouri sisters

EDGERTON, Mo. (AP) - Two slain northwest Missouri sisters are being remembered for their "bubbly personalities."

The St. Joseph News-Press (http://bit.ly/NT0aF8) reported that hundreds of people turned out Friday night at a memorial service for 19-year-old Britny Haarup and 22-year-old Ashley Key.

Their bodies were found Sunday in a field near a tree line. A man charged in the killings told investigators he was high on methamphetamine when he killed them.

A search for the women began July 13 when Haarup's fiancé found the couple's 6- and 18-month-old daughters alone and in the same crib in an Edgerton residence, located about 35 miles north of Kansas City.

The women's mother, Teresa Haarup, says that when she thinks about how her daughters died, it was "just so awesome, to see how many people loved them."
