Missouri pegged to finish fourth in SEC East

The Missouri Tigers are picked to finish in the middle of the East Division pack in their inaugural football season in the Southeastern Conference.

In voting released Thursday, media members have the Tigers finishing fourth in their seven-team division this fall.

Missouri received two first-place votes and finished with 797 points in the poll. Georgia, with 132 first-place votes, was picked to win the division. South Carolina was second, with Florida third. Missouri will host Georgia in its first SEC game Sept. 8 at Faurot Field.

LSU was selected to win the Western Division as well as the overall title.

The media also released its preseason All-SEC teams, which featured a pair of Tigers.

Offensive lineman Elvis Fisher and defensive back E.J. Gaines were both third-team selections.
