JCPD responds to stabbing and shots fired call

July 17th, 2012 in News

At about 2 a.m. Tuesday morning, Jefferson City police responded to the 1400 block of Elizabeth for a call of a disturbance and shots fired.

When officers arrived on scene, they could find no one outside in the area.

Further information developed that led officers to the 1000 block of Elizabeth, where four pistol shell casings were located in the street.

Officers were able to speak to persons in that area, but none of whom were willing to give any information or cooperate with police.

Officers searched the area and eventually found a trail of blood leading to 1417 Elizabeth Street.

Within an apartment there, they located the victim of an apparent stabbing, a 27 year old male Jefferson City resident.

The victim was less than cooperative and gave a variety of stories as to what occurred and how he was allegedly stabbed.

The victim did have two stab wounds and was transported to a local hospital for treatment, then released.

Throughout interviews with the victim, police were unable to gain any information as to the suspect, reason, or location where the stabbing took place, and the victim refused to cooperate with information regarding any shots fired.
