The current interest in the "God particle" renews the long line of people seeking a human and rational approach to knowledge of God.
Centuries ago, philosophers thought about the beings that we observe around us as an approach to knowing God. Later, scientists also entered the lists.
For a book based on current findings, read Robert Spitzer, New Proofs for the Existence of God: Contributions of Contemporary Physics and Philosophy (Eerdmans, 2010). Worth the effort!
