Block letters begin to spell out the word "LISTEN" as Alex Bravo puts the finishing touches on the word that he "tagged" on one wall at the Boys and Girls Club.
Bravo, a senior, has 12 words to paint as his service project at the Boys and Girls Club.
In addition to his chosen tag "LISTEN," Bravo, a student at Jefferson City Academic Center (JCAC), will colorfully and artistically paint each of the public school's Character Plus words on the walls at the club.
Stephanie Johnson, executive director of the club, said the place had an institutional feel with the white walls and blue doors that existed when she started her job at the organization. In September during United Way Days of Caring, volunteers painted the club yellow.
"(But) some people thought it made it look like a daycare," Johnson said.
