DESK CHAIRS

DETAILS: Amia desk chairs model 482 made in the U.S. by Steelcase Inc., of Grand Rapids, Mich., between March 1, and June 6, 2011. The chairs were sold at Healthy Back Store, CSN, Home Office Solutions, Office & Company and Sam Flax stores nationwide and online at www.store.steelcase.com .

WHY: The pivot pins installed in the control mechanism under the chair seat can fall out, and the user could fall.

INCIDENTS: None reported.

HOW MANY: About 11,000.

BICYCLES

DETAILS: Model year 2012 men's Giant Defy Advanced and women's Avail Advanced bicycles, made in Taiwan and sold by dealers nationwide between August and November 2011.

WHY: The fork can crack, potentially causing riders to fall.

HOW MANY: About 900.
