COLUMBIA - In a matter of minutes, Missouri's game against Texas A&M went from a dogfight to a near knockout.

The fifth-ranked Tigers used a 28-2 run late in the first half and overcame a sluggish second half Monday to down the Aggies 70-51 at Mizzou Arena.

It was the first win for the Tigers against Texas A&M since 2004, breaking an eight-game skid.

"No doubt it was our defense," Missouri coach Frank Haith said about the run. "We started knocking balls loose. ... Like everybody else, we're fueled by scoring and our defense gets better when we're scoring a little bit."
