Workforce development a priority in Lake area

Public input, additional research highlights economic development needs

After completing four public meetings, the Lake of the Ozarks Council of Local Governments (LOCLG) was able to obtain valuable top priorities from residents on future economic development in region.

The input helped in finalizing the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS), a strategic plan that a region must have and update every five years, to assist community leaders with staying on task with the goal of improving the economic development of their region. Having an updated CEDS may allow local communities to qualify for and apply for Economic Development Administration grants.

According to LOCLG Regional Planner Mac McNally said he was impressed to see the increased response from the Lake Area's residents.
