Monday's observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday means most national, state, county and local government offices will be closed, except for emergency services and law enforcement.
The Missouri Legislature will not be in session. The state Archives, 600 W. Main St., will be closed.
Jefftran buses will not run. The U.S. Postal Service will operate on its holiday collection schedule, with no regular mail deliveries. Express Mail will be delivered as required.
Some area schools, including Lincoln University and the Jefferson City Public Schools, will be closed. Some businesses and most financial institutions will be closed.
The Missouri River Regional Library in Jefferson City and Linn will be closed Monday. However, the Heartland Library in Eldon and the Daniel Boone Library System in Boone and Callaway counties will remain open.
The holiday will not affect the Allied Waste collection schedule. The News Tribune will publish a Monday newspaper and offices will be open.
