KC man charged in connection with triple homicide

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - A Kansas City man has been charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in September's shooting deaths of three people at a midtown apartment.

The Jackson County prosecutor's office announced the charges Tuesday against 20-year-old Michael Bruce. He's accused of killing Phillip Hall, Stacy Roberson and Raymond Hill, who were all in their early 20s.

Police say Bruce told investigators he was at the apartment when the killings occurred Sept. 18 but denied taking part, saying he was in a hallway when the shots were fired. Prosecutors say DNA evidence recovered from a hoodie that Bruce wore matched him and one of the victims.

Bruce was in custody Tuesday, and prosecutors requested a $250,000 cash bond. The prosecutor's office said it didn't appear that Bruce had an attorney.
