International law firm hires former OA chief

Commissioner of Administration Kelvin Simmons is leaving Missouri state government next month to work with an international law firm.

Simmons said Friday his new job already was lined up when, on Dec. 20, Gov. Jay Nixon's office announced Simmons' planned departure, effective Feb. 1.

But the SNR Denton firm didn't announce Simmons' new duties until Friday morning.

"Simmons will join the firm as a principal in the Public Policy and Regulation practice and the global government sector," SNR Denton said in its news release. "He will advise local, state and national clients on government affairs, public policy, energy regulation, government contracting and procurement matters."
