Jefferson City to begin drafting boundary line with St. Martins

The line in the sand is being drawn when it comes to annexation.

In a closed session vote, the City Council has authorized staff to begin drawing a boundary between Jefferson City and St. Martins that would establish where either city could annex up to, but not beyond.

Michelle Gleba, communications manager with the city, said the move to begin the proposed agreement is the result of several months of negotiations between the city and St. Martins, and it essentially eliminates the possibility or need of a lawsuit by the city.
