Hoelscher seeks re-election in Cole County Eastern District

Jeff Hoelscher has announced his candidacy for re-election as Eastern District commissioner of Cole County.

Hoelscher was first elected Eastern District commissioner in 2008, and said he was focused on using his experience, education and knowledge of Cole County to make careful and sensible decisions.

"I wanted to bring common sense to the position," he said. "Commissioners must make decisions that relate to budgeting, roads and bridges and public safety. Having worked in the public sector and being a business owner, I was well aware of the need to gather citizen input and to work to promote inter-governmental cooperation. I wanted to be the advocate for the Eastern District as well as work for the betterment of the entire county and the cities in it."

Hoelscher also said one thing he can add is the experience he has obtained in his first term as commissioner.

"My strong upbringing taught me you have to work hard for what you want and make your own way in life," he said. "I have worked hard to learn and be involved, to do as much as possible to gain experience and knowledge by serving on various boards and committees including chairing organizations such as the CAMPO Board of Directors, Cole County Communities and East Side Business Association. I also serve on the University of Missouri Cole County Extension Council and the Missouri Association of Counties Board."

Hoelscher is a lifelong resident of Cole County and has two sons, Colton and Dylan.

He is a member of the Wardsville Lions, Knights of Columbus, Home Builders Association and Jefferson City Board of Realtors.
