Missouri to open fall football with SE Louisiana

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - Missouri will open its first season in the SEC with a Sept. 1 nonconference home football game against Southeastern Louisiana.

The Moberly Monitor-Index (http://bit.ly/woDCi9) reports that Missouri athletic director Mike Alden told a local Rotary Club on Thursday that the Tigers will host the lower-division school over Labor Day weekend. The Southland Conference school plays in the Football Championship Series division and finished 3-8 in 2011.

Missouri's move to the Southeastern Conference meant revising its football schedule and dropping previously scheduled opponents.

Its other scheduled nonconference games are against Arizona State on Sept. 15 and a road trip to Central Florida two weeks later. Missouri still has to fill its schedule with one open nonconference match-up.
