February 24th, 2012 in News

As with any mechanical equipment, unforeseen issues can arise. Last night the folder on our press broke, leaving us unable to print today's paper. We have arranged for the Columbia Tribune to print today's edition for us. We hope to have our press fixed today. We encourage everyone to go to our e-edition to read the paper.

So today, we are offering up our entire news paper to everyone for free. You might recall when we first created our e-edition we opened it up to the public for an entire month. Today, we open it up to the public to use and comment here to let us know what you think.

The link is

All you need to do, if you don't know, is click on a story. Your story selection will pop up. (Yes, pop-ups need to be allowed.) Normally, this requires a password to access, but not while it's free.

Here are some things about our e-edition even our subscribers who use it daily might not know.

-You can view the entire week of news by clicking on the paper's date in the top navigation pulldown menu. Simply click on the date, scroll down to the day you would like to look at, click, and that paper will appear.

-You can download the entire newspaper in its original form and read it later, or not even online. This option is in the main window, under features.

-You can choose to view the paper in plain text or newspaper form. Your choice. Once you have an article open, select the View tab at the top of the article window. Quick View offers plain text with any photos at the bottom. Newspaper View offers the article in its original newspaper layout.

-Advertising also will pop up when you click on an ad. If some text within the pop-up ad is too small to read, try clicking on that area and a second pop-up should make it larger.

Again, we encourage you to give it a shot and let us know what you have to say.

Thank you,

The News Tribune
