Slow starts prove costly for LU women

Early spurts send Emporia State to conference win

Three days after sealing an invitation to the upcoming Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association postseason tournament, Lincoln's sluggish starts to both halves led to a 62-57 loss to Emporia State on Saturday afternoon at Jason Gym.

Lincoln, in a battle with Truman State for the sixth seed in the conference tournament, failed to hit a 3-pointer (0-of-13) in the defeat to a Lady Hornet team it could see again in the tournament quarterfinals in Kansas City.
