COLUMBIA, Mo. - The state wrestling tournament is all about adjusting your goals as you go along - period by period, match by match, round by round.
After a successful first day of the Class 1 Missouri State High School Activities Association Wrestling Championships, it's the last scenario that faces the Blair Oaks Falcons.
Seven of eight Falcons won their opening-day matches to advance to today's quarterfinal round, putting Blair Oaks fifth in the team race with 23 points. In today's round, the Falcons will be looking to gain ground on the leader, Whitfield (36), as well as Brookfield (24), St. James (24) and Lathrop (23.5).
"We're going where we need to," Blair Oaks coach Tim Karsten said after Thursday's action at Mizzou Arena.
