The Jefferson City Parks and Recreation Commission has approved a greenway trail extension from Leslie Boulevard through Aurora Park.
At the Parks and Recreation Committee meeting Tuesday, members approved the selection of Sam Gaines Construction of New Bloomfield to complete the project at a cost of $632,101. The selection is subject to approval from the Missouri Department of Transportation.
Bill Lockwood, Parks, Recreation and Forestry director, said the extension would add about one mile of trail to the greenway system and should be completed by late fall.
