I am opposed to the Affordable Care Act. It is a violation of our Constitution.
No government has the authority to force citizens to buy, use or sell anything that violates their religious beliefs. According to the First Amendment:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
According to a letter sent out by the Democrats.org, under the Affordable Care Act, "starting Aug. 1, most insurance plans will be required to fully cover contraception without co-pays or deductibles as part of women's preventive care."
The Affordable Care Act forces religious institutions to either violate their moral beliefs or be fined. Those who oppose abortion and/or birth control have the constitutional right to live their belief and that means saying "no' to selling or helping with the distribution of birth control or assisting with abortions.
It is the individual's responsibility to decide how and when to use birth control. It is not a constitutional duty or obligation of the government to do so.
I'm standing against the president on this important issue that affects millions of Christian men and women across the country. Of equal importance, I am standing against the president and any others who would violate my constitutional rights.
I will expect my elected officials to fight for my constitutional rights. They are sworn to do so.
