Since the beginning of the year, heroin has appeared in the news with increasing frequency - reports of overdoses, arrests linked to robberies and assaults with ties to the Capital City's newest and fastest growing drug problem.

The Jefferson City community held its first town hall meeting on how to combat the drug on Thursday, two days after the HOPE (Heroin Overdose Prevention and Education) program officially kicked off with the launch of its www.jeffcityhope.com website.
