GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Angel Rodriguez scored 24 points, none bigger than those that came on a falling-down, hand-in-the-face 3-pointer with 16 seconds remaining, and Miami overcame a 15-point deficit to upset No. 8 Florida 69-67 on Monday night.

The Hurricanes (2-0) scored 48 points in the second half as Rodriguez took over.

Florida (1-1) had a final chance to send it to overtime, but Michael Frazier II missed a jumper at the buzzer.

Eli Carter led the Gators with 21 points, including 16 in the second half.

NO. 7 LOUISVILLE 88, JACKSONVILLE STATE 39

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Montrezl Harrell scored 15 points as No. 7 Louisville easily beat Jacksonville State.

Louisville won its 14th straight home opener. Harrell, a preseason All-America, played just 24 minutes as coach Rick Pitino rested his starters for much of the second half.

Freshman Terry Rozier scored 13 on 5 of 7 shooting and Chinanu Onuaku added 12 points and 10 rebounds for Louisville. Wayne Blackshear had 12 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

Darion Rackley led Jacksonville State (0-2) with 11 points.

NO. 12 VILLANOVA 81, MARYLAND-EASTERN SHORE 44

VILLANOVA (AP) - Kris Jenkins had 15 points to lead No. 12 Villanova in a rout of Maryland-Eastern Shore on Monday night.

Daniel Ochefu, Darrun Hilliard and Dylan Ennis each scored 10 points for the Wildcats (2-0), who were picked to win the Big East.

Devin Martin had 17 points and 10 rebounds for Maryland-Eastern Shore (0-2).

No. 13 GONZAGA 72, No. 22 SMU 56

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Kevin Pangos made five 3-pointers and scored 17 points as No. 13 Gonzaga shut down No. 22 SMU.

Domantas Sabonis added 13 points for Gonzaga (2-0) whose defense especially stymied the Mustangs in the second half.

Ben Moore scored 11 points and Nic Moore 10 for SMU (1-1), which is in its third season under Hall of Fame coach Larry Brown.

This was the first meeting between the programs.

The Mustangs shot just 31 percent, making 19 of 61 shots.

NO. 14 IOWA STATE 81, GEORGIA STATE 58

AMES, Iowa (AP) - Monte Morris scored a career-high 19 points with nine assists and 14th-ranked Iowa State rolled past Georgia State.

Naz Long added 17 for the Cyclones (2-0), who outscored the Panthers by 17 points in the second half.

R.J. Hunter had 21 for Georgia State (1-1). The Panthers were a unanimous pick to win the Sun Belt for the second year in a row.

NO. 24 MICHIGAN 77, BUCKNELL 53

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - Zak Irvin scored 16 of his 23 points in the first half, and No. 24 Michigan rolled to a victory over Bucknell.

Max Bielfeldt added 18 points for Michigan, more than quadrupling his career high, and the Wolverines (2-0) never looked back after scoring the game's first 10 points. Bucknell (1-1) turned the ball over 17 times.

Derrick Walton scored 15 points for Michigan, which led 48-19 at halftime. Chris Hass scored 21 for the Bison, but he was the only Bucknell player in double figures.

Bucknell shot 1 for 9 from 3-point range in the first half.
