Your Opinion: Opponents fail to offer any plan

Dear Editor:

I appreciate all the feedback from the concerned citizens about this proposed tax. Too bad not one of them has come up with any kind of plan. They really seem to enjoy trying to estimate "what the community wants" with their own numbers and negative comments about the Transformation plan while they really suggest nothing.

I have a couple suggestions for citizens that vote no for Transformation. You could all pick a day to sit at home and worship the $60 a year that you could save right before you waste that money on a road trip driving to a business in a different community that we are trying to see brought to Jefferson City. Maybe you could spend the money and start your own business since your are working hard against outside companies to invest in our city.

It is easy to try and pick apart the list of projects and even the way they will be administered by the city, but it is the best we have. My opinion is we could use all of these plus more projects. These were the projects that seemed most able to attract that private money and investments to our community and limit our expenses to all citizens. I am voting for this because I just don't trust the "no" votes to do anything besides complain.

I would like to see Jefferson City invest in itself.
