OSAGE BEACH, Mo. - The year 2011 was a record-breaking one for the Lake of the Ozarks Polar Plunge.

Last February, the event saw the greatest number of participants, with 610 plungers, and a little more than $200,000 was raised for the Special Olympics Missouri (SOMO).

The Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations and businesses to support SOMO athletes by collecting pledges and donations for being brave to jump into the frigid icy waters of Missouri in the middle of winter.
