Lady Jays drop decision to Mexico

Just when it seemed like things were finally going their way, the Jefferson City Lady Jays hit that wall everyone's always talking about.

The Lady Jays led for the first minute and a half of Saturday's seventh-place game of the State Farm Holiday Hoops Invitational, then found themselves in a double-digit hole against the Mexico Lady Bulldogs for most of the next three quarters.

But after facing their biggest deficit of the game - 45-30 with 6:26 left in the third quarter - the Lady Jays mounted a charge and cut the lead to four.

However, Jefferson City went seven possessions without a score immediately after that and the comeback stalled, as Mexico went on to a 58-46 victory at Fleming Fieldhouse.

"We hit a couple stretches (Saturday) of too many ....
