Quincy beats Eureka in girls semifinal game

Quincy outscored Eureka 20-4 in the fourth quarter Friday night to capture a 53-43 victory in the semifinals of the State Farm Holiday Hoops Invitational at Rackers Fieldhouse.

With the win, Quincy advances to take on St. Joseph Benton in the championship game at 4:45 p.m. today at Fleming Fieldhouse. Eureka will face Helias for third place at 3:15 p.m.

Trailing 39-33 after three quarters, Quincy scored the first 11 points of the final period to take the lead. After Eureka hit a pair of free throws to make it 44-41, Quincy scored the next nine points to push its lead to double digits.

Eureka got its lone field goal of the fourth quarter in the final :10.

Arai'ya Dade and Jordan Fletcher had 16 points and nine rebounds each for Quincy (8-4).

Lindsey McCoy finished with 12 points for Eureka (6-3).
