Helias overcomes sluggish game to defeat Smith-Cotton

If you wanted to see the definition of "winning ugly," the Helias boys basketball team offered a crash course Tuesday night.

The Crusaders hit just 5-of-18 free throws - after starting 0-of-9 - and committed 23 turnovers, but were still able to carve out a 47-44 win over Sedalia Smith-Cotton at Rackers Fieldhouse.

But if there was one bright spot in the slugfest, it was the fact the Crusaders had an answer when they needed it the most.
