Retired LU professor's book features vintage MSP images

Lovers of old prison lore will enjoy perusing Arnold G. Park's new book, "Missouri State Penitentiary."

With more than 28 years of experience at Lincoln University, Parks, now retired, has worked as a sociology professor, social science department head and dean of the College of Arts and Science. He now serves as the lay pastor at two rural United Methodist congregations.

Parks' latest 128-page book tells the prison's story through the use of 200 vintage photographs and images. Each chapter begins with a few paragraphs of written information, followed by several pages of captioned pictures.
