A new City Council race has formed, with Len Stella looking to challenge incumbent Bryan Pope in Jefferson City's 3rd Ward.
Stella filed for the 3rd Ward City Council seat Thursday morning, making it the second race so far in municipal elections. The 2nd Ward also has a race with incumbent Shawn Schulte facing challenger Blake Markus, a local attorney.
Stella, who served on the council in the mid-90s, said he still has an interest in city affairs, and now that he is retired, he could devote more time to the job.
