House speaker: Jobs, energy, education top priorities

December 13th, 2012 in News

Economic development for job creation, a strong state energy policy, and education funding and reform will be the Legislature's top priorities this session, Missouri House Speaker Tim Jones said Wednesday during a stop in Jefferson City.

Jones, R-Eureka, spoke at Mid-America Wireless on his four-day, 20-city tour across Missouri.

He outlined two goals of the tour - to listen to the people of Missouri and to present the basic framework or plans that representatives plan to pursue during the upcoming legislative session.

"I've really been impressed with the participation the people of the state of Missouri have taken in the tour," Jones said. "It shows how much folks are engaged in the political process like never before. They want to know what their state government is up to."
