Your Opinion: Blunt praised for opposition

Dear Editor:

Responding to Mr. Stockton's letter published Dec. 9 in the News Tribune, I am not surprised at his letter after the re-election of Mr. (Santa Claus) Obama whom I would guess he strongly supported.

Stockton is upset at Sen. Blunt's vote, along with 37 other Republicans, against The Resolution of Ratification Treaty Doc. 112-7.

I'm surprised there are still 38 politicians in the Senate who still believe in the sovereignty of the USA. I wonder if Stockton could give one instance where the United Nations has voted on anything to help the USA rather than the dictator led member majority?

To my knowledge, there has not been one vote on any issue that doesn't in some way cost us money or sovereignty. For that reason alone, any UN treaty should be voted against and if any vote taken by the Senate it should be to stop funding the UN!

Hooray for Sen. Blunt. I hope he hangs in there along with the other remaining minority of brave and patriotic Republicans who are concerned first about saving our country instead of playing Santa Claus for everyone in the world for their own self gratification and re-election!
