Helias splits on first day of Duals

Dual wins aren't the No. 1 goal for the Helias Crusaders this weekend.

But they'll happily take them when they get them.

Alex Schwinke's first-period fall at 195 pounds was the key for Helias' 38-33 victory against the Rock Bridge Bruins in Friday night at the Missouri Duals at Rackers Fieldhouse.

"That was a big win for Alex, I'm very proud of him," Helias coach Travis Reinsch said.

Schwinke, who started the season on the junior varsity before moving up last week, scored a quick takedown before getting the win by fall in :59.

"He's gone through some tough matches, but he got a good cradle and got the win," Reinsch said.

Three Crusaders went 2-0 in their matches on the opening night of the Duals.
