Colleges look forward to using complex

With contracts signed Monday morning, LU and Linn State administrators said they already are working together to develop ways to make the proposed "Higher Education Corridor" along Lafayette Street function.

"Both institutions already have preliminary plans for this newly acquired space," LU Interim President Connie Hamacher explained, minutes before the contracts-signing.

Under the agreements, LU will buy the Jefferson City High School complex - including the recently renovated Adkins Stadium - and the Simonsen Ninth Grade Center, while Linn State will become the new owner of the Nichols Career Center, and of the high school's wrestling building north of the career center.
