TROY, Mo. (AP) - An eastern Missouri man has been charged with driving while intoxicated in a crossover crash that killed a boy.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/VdeHu8 ) reported that 32-year-old Randolph Scott James of Troy was charged Friday with first-degree involuntary manslaughter and three charges of second-degree assault. He also was charged with driving in a careless and imprudent manner, a misdemeanor.
The Missouri Highway Patrol said a pickup truck driven by James crossed the center line of Missouri 47 on Nov. 21. It smashed into a car carrying 9-year-old David W. Simpson of Winfield. He died after he was taken to Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center.
Three others in the car were injured, as was James.
Bond has been set at $50,000. No attorney is listed for James in online court records.
