Missouri River Regional Library Foundation and the Jefferson City Convention and Visitors Bureau are teaming up for a ghostly joint fundraiser.
From 9 p.m.-midnight Sept. 22, a fundraiser at the Missouri State Penitentiary will feature a two-hour ghost tour of the penitentiary followed by an hour of ghost stories told by two area professional storytellers.
The date of the event marks the 58th anniversary of the 1954 riot at the prison in which four people were killed and hundreds were injured.
