Upon his graduation from high school, local resident Steve Sampson was uncertain as to what the future held for him, or what vocation he should consider pursuing.
But after a short period working odd jobs that provided little satisfaction, Sampson enlisted in the Navy - leading to an eight-year commitment offering a lifetime of benefit.
