Helias falls in overtime

HARRISONVILLE - This round went the grinders.

The second-ranked Helias Crusaders couldn't stop the running game of the third-ranked Harrisonville Wildcats on Friday night at Memorial Stadium. On the other hand, the Wildcats could do little to slow down the Crusader passing game.

But in the end, it was the Wildcat ground attack that got the last laugh in a 38-37 overtime victory over the Crusaders.

"It was a great high-school football game," a visibly disappointed Helias coach Phil Pitts said. "It was what you would expect from a game between the No, 2 and No, 3 teams in the state."
