B.J. Davis is known for helping others by using his comedy and musical talents for fundraisers. Now, his friends are asking the community to band together to help him.

Years ago, Davis was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. Complications of the disease can affect nearly every part of the body, and while it may not directly kill him one day, Davis said it is likely a complication from it will.

"He does not let this slow him down," friend Terry Grefrath said.

To help their friend, the Eagles are hosting a fundraiser along with the Jefferson City Swing Club at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Eagles Club. A dance will be held until 11:30 p.m. with all funds raised going help Davis. For more information, call Grefrath at 573-257-3050.
