Cole County Circuit Judge Jon Beetem will hear two cases filed last week challenging Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan's certification of signatures on initiative petition proposals.
The cases likely will be argued Sept. 5, 6 and 7, although trial dates won't be finalized until Beetem meets with the lawyers late Wednesday morning for pre-trial scheduling issues.
They were filed late Wednesday by St. Louis attorney Christopher N. Grant, who declined to be interviewed Monday after appearing before Presiding Circuit Judge Patricia Joyce and, later, meeting with Beetem.
