Program helps develop nursing assistants

Not many employers are given the chance to help fully fund their employees' continuing education, while still allowing the employee to work a varied schedule, attend classes and complete training. But that is just what Homemaker Health Care has done.

Trish Rockers, director of nursing with Homemaker Health Care, said the certified nursing assistant program was created to help provide continuing education for the agency's caregivers who are not CNAs.

Homemaker Health Care is a member agency of the Central Missouri United Way, which provided grant funds to help with the program that sends employees to become CNAs.
