INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Erlana Larkins scored a career-high 16 points to help the Indiana Fever beat the Washington Mystics 84-66 on Thursday night.
Larkins also matched career highs with seven rebounds and three steals.
Tamika Catchings, fresh off winning her third gold medal for Team USA, had 14 points and 14 rebounds. The double-double was the 76th of her career, tied her with Lauren Jackson for third in WNBA history.
Katie Douglas added 11 points for the Fever (11-7), who returned from the Olympic break trailing Connecticut by four games in the Eastern Conference standings.
Monique Currie scored 12 points, Michelle Snow scored 11 and Jasmine Thomas added 10 for the Mystics (4-15), who remained in last place in the East.
LIBERTY 79, SUN 66
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Cappie Pondexter scored 24 points and Plenette Pierson, returning after missing the Liberty's last eight games before the hiatus due to a left knee strain, had 16 points to help New York (7-12) snap a three-game skid.
Renee Montgomery scored 16 points, and Allison Hightower and Mistie Mims added 12 each for the Sun (15-5). Tina Charles, who helped lead the United States to a gold medal at the London Games, had just four points and 12 rebounds, while fellow Olympian Asjha Jones sat out due to a strained left Achilles' tendon.
STORM 72, MERCURY 58
SEATTLE (AP) - Camille Little scored 17 points and Tanisha Wright added 10 points for the Storm, who got to .500 (10-10) for the first time this season and has won nine of their last 12 after a 1-7 start.
Seattle went in front for good on Thursday with a 10-0 run in the second quarter and led by 18 late in the game.
Samantha Prahalis led the Mercury (4-16) with 15 points, and Alexis Hornbuckle chipped in 12. Phoenix has lost seven a row, three of which have been to Seattle.
Sue Bird, fresh off of helping the United States win the gold medal last Saturday in London, had two points and three assists in 10 minutes of play. She sat out the second half with the stomach flu.
