WAREGEM, Belgium - Down early in its game against Bent-Schoenen Waregem, the Missouri basketball team responded in a positive manner.
Michael Dixon scored a game-high 31 points and the Tigers picked up an 81-72 victory in Monday's exhibition game in Belgium.
"I give them a lot of credit," Missouri head coach Frank Haith said. "They are a veteran club, so I knew they would have a lot of confidence coming in. I knew they would come out firing and they hit some shots early. I wanted our guys to hang in there and just stay patient. Once we did that, everything fell into place."
The Tigers trailed 12-2 to start the game before rallying midway through the second quarter. Forward Danny Feldmann (Helias High School) scored back-to-back hoops to pull Missouri within four points.
