Crennel says no knowledge of Bowe sighting

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel says he has no knowledge of holdout wide receiver Dwayne Bowe being spotted in Kansas City.

There were broadcast reports before KC's game against Arizona on Friday night that Bowe was seen at the airport, leading to widespread speculation he was about to report for training camp. Bowe, the Chiefs' leading receiver the past three seasons, was franchised this year but has refused to sign a contract tender that would pay him about $9.5 million for the year.

Crennel said in a conference call on Saturday with reporters that, "Nobody has told me anything, and so if he reports to camp, that will be the first time I see him and then we'll go about business as we need to. I don't know what's going to happen. I haven't had any conversations or anything like that."

The Chiefs refused to give Bowe a long-term contract and he has been absent since camp opened on July 27. He is not expected to miss the regular season.
