JC couple charged after SWAT operation

On Wednesday, Jefferson City police epartment officers received information that a suspect wanted on a 2nd degree Felony Assault warrant was in his residence/business, located at A-1 Small Engines at 2025 East McCarty Street in Jefferson City.

Officers responded to that residence in an attempt to apprehend the fugitive, identified as 40 year old Eric Perkinson of Jefferson City.

During their attempt to contact and arrest him, Perkinson managed to evade officers and further attempts to apprehend him that evening were unsuccessful.

Officers then set up surveillance on Perkinson, and around 5 p.m. Thursday they made positive identification of him at that same location.

Due to the information received that Perkinson carried a firearm, was known to be violent, and had evaded police the day prior, the SWAT team was notified and responded to A-1 Small Engines to serve the arrest warrant.

During the warrant service, Perkinson's wife, Tami L. Perkinson, 32, was uncooperative with police and advised them he was not in the place of business at the time.

The SWAT team made entry into the business however and eventually located Perkinson hiding within.

He was taken into custody without incident.

Charges are as follows:

Eric Perkinson was arrested for Assault 2nd Degree (Felony - $150,000 bond), and two counts of Felony Resisting Arrest, set at no bond.

Tami Perkinson was arrested for Felony Hindering Prosecution, with charges pending at the Cole County Prosecutor's Office.

No one was injured during the arrest.
