Hannibal cat survives being shot by arrow

HANNIBAL, Mo. (AP) - A cat in the northeast Missouri town of Hannibal is recovering after surviving an arrow through the stomach.

The incident happened last week. Owner Mike Moore told KHQA-TV (http://bit.ly/Ms2t30 ) that his son found Junior the cat with an arrow in the stomach. Fortunately, the arrow missed Junior's lungs. Moore says the cat seems to be holding his own, but his recovery remains uncertain.

Animal Control officer Robert Stout says finding the shooter will be difficult unless a witness comes forward. But if the shooter is caught, he or she could face felony charges.
