CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) - The mother of a St. Louis-area man killed last year when a motor home struck his motorcycle is asking the Missouri State Highway Patrol to reopen the investigation.
Anne Perkins is upset that St. Louis County prosecutors decided not to charge the driver of the RV. Perkins, of Rock Hill, told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/IXKgEe) that the legal system failed her son.
Aaron Becker was stopped at a traffic signal on Sept. 27, waiting for a red light to change, when the RV clipped two cars before knocking him to the pavement. The 22-year-old was killed.
Prosecutors decided earlier this year not to press charges in a case that illustrates the challenge of what to do when a driver makes a simple, but deadly, mistake.
