On Wednesday the Cole County Grand Jury indicted a Jefferson City man on charges of second-degree murder and first-degree robbery in connection with the killing of a Columbia man this past Sunday.
Court documents filed Thursday morning show Brandon Chase, 28, 1122 East Elm Street, is believed to have killed Keith Mosely, 34, by shooting him as the result of an attempted robbery and attempted distribution of a controlled substance.
Mosely was shot about 12:17 a.m. at 1029-B Buena Vista St. He was taken to St. Mary's Health Center, then flown by LifeFlight helicopter to a Columbia hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Chase is being held in the Cole County Jail on $500,000 bond.
He turned himself into authorities after they announced he was a person of interest they wanted to talk to in connection with the shooting.
Chase had four outstanding warrants from Jefferson City and Cole County at the time of the shooting.
Also indicted was Tracy Session, a 25 year old Jefferson City male, charged with one count of second-degree murder.
Session is also being held on a $500,000 bond.
Jefferson City Police Detectives are still investigating other possible persons' involvement in the case.
