Jefferson City police on Tuesday released data showing they arrived to the scene of a homicide on Sunday much quicker than an area resident claimed.

Police say the first officer arrived at the scene 3 minutes and 21 seconds after the first 911 call ended - more than 6 1⁄2 minutes sooner than someone at the scene had estimated.

Capt. Doug Shoemaker, the department's spokesman, said the complaint about slow response time was concerning and warranted an internal review.

"After this review, it is obvious Jefferson City police officers and communications operators performed their duties as expected, and responded expeditiously to the calls concerning this incident," Shoemaker said in a written statement.
