Authorities believe two people were responsible for a break-in of a storage locker Sunday afternoon where items from the Capital City Cook Off Buck-A-Bone raffle were stored.
According to Cole County Sheriff's Department reports, Mark Joseph Bax, 42, Jefferson City, and Paul McKibben, 25, Jefferson City, were involved in the break-in at 4923 W. Business 50.
Bax was arrested for second-degree burglary and posted a $5,000 bond.
McKibben was charged with second-degree burglary, but as of Monday afternoon was not in custody.
Bax was identified from a photo lineup by a witness as one of the two men he saw at the locker.
Bax was taken into custody at the intersection of Heritage Highway and Propst Road and admitted to taking the items. He said McKibben was with him at the time.
Bax told deputies they could find the stolen items in the 500 block of Cheyenne Drive.
A 50-gallon tote with shirts and bungees inside was located along with a gas-powered liquid pump and several cases of soda.
A brown cash box containing an unknown amount of money was also taken, but authorities were not able to find it with the other items.
