A Vienna man was arrested in Maries County on Thursday night after a police chase ended at his mother's home.

The Maries County Sheriff's Department reports Shaun A. Renaud, 34, was taken into custody after he crashed his vehicle into the residence, fled through the home and rushed out the back door. Pursuing deputies caught him moments later hiding behind a storage shed.

The pursuit began around 6 p.m. when a sheriff's investigator attempted to stop Renaud's vehicle on U.S. 63 near Vienna. The chase continued down County Road 321 to the residence.

No one was hurt during the chase, Sheriff Chris Heitman reported.

Renaud was arrested for numerous traffic violations and resisting arrest. Deputies also located suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside his vehicle, Heitman said.

Renaud, who's reportedly on probation for drug-related charges, was being held in the Maries County Jail pending formal charges in connection with Thursday's incident.
